Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer.  Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F-14.

Responsibilities

Summary

Organize and coordinate all calibration activities including creation of calibration policies within the company. Responsibilities include calibration of mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards and assists in formulating calibration standards.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain database of calibrated parts and update TAS-Y numbers, part locations, and calibration due dates. 
  • All the following gages / instruments will be calibrated in-house by the calibration technician. This equipment may be sent outside depending on internal capacity. 
  • Bore and Groove Gages 
  • Micrometers, Calipers, Thread gages, Indicators, Height indicators, Surface Analyzers, Temperature Transmitters 
  • Set up inspection Gages used in the production and inspection environment 
  • Update a list of parts and calibration due dates that will be posted on each individual test system. 
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or software test setups. Requisition necessary equipment and materials as required. 
  • Set-up instrumentation, measurement system, and equipment to achieve technical objectives; Includes, but not limited to, computer equipment, data acquisition, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, transducers, etc.  
  • Ensure that all parts are properly etched with TAS-Y numbers or that the calibration stickers are clear-coated. 
  • Sets up, tests and calibrates hand gages (micrometers, height gages, thread gages, etc.). 
  • Maintains calibration records using Gage Trak software and communications detailed instrument calibration information. 
  • Maintains cleanliness and general upkeep of calibration areas. 
  • Contribute to team effort working with other departments in tackling problems, generation new ideas and alternative solutions to calibration concerns. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required.
  • Four (4) years experience as a technician or Inspector, Machinist or Maintenance Technician.
  •  Instrumentation / and or Industrial Automation Technology Degree / Certification from a Technical Institute preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/ MRP systems a plus 
  • Aerospace industry experience a plus 
  • Proficient in MS office, especially Excel 
  • Detail oriented, prompt, organized  
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, both alone and in teams  

 

Position Pay Range: $30.31 - $35.67 Per Hour.  Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience.
