Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret design drawings and specifications,  develop production planning, and support manufacturing processes.
  • Develops written manufacturing planning, sketches, and other work instructions in accordance with appropriate drawings and specifications to support site production
  • Use of CAD systems to create fixturing, tooling, and manufacturing models to support creation and development of manufacturing/machining processes.
  • Works closely with production operators, supervisors, and other functional teams to continually improving product flow and quality
  • Initiates, evaluates, and implements process improvements
  • Understands manufacturing capacity and capabilities planning
  • Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materialsconferring with equipment vendorssoliciting observations from operators
  • Designs and develops tools (physical and analytical) to assist and improve production processes
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                   

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field plus 5 years of relatable experience; OR
  • Associates degree in an engineering field with 7 years of related experience; OR
  • 10 years of Aerospace, Automotive, or equivalent Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of and experience with:
    • Precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices
    • Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing
      • Including GD&T
    • Aerospace industry specifications
    • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts
    • General knowledge of metallurgical properties including heat treating various types of metals.
