Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation Products and Services designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer.  Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F-14.

Responsibilities

Position

Summer internship in the Triumph – Yakima Engineering Department, which will include rotations through the design, analysis, and engineering test departments. 

 

Triumph Actuation Systems – Yakima is seeking candidates for an Engineering Internship in our Yakima, WA location. This internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major in engineering that will enhance and complement their classroom learning.

 

Responsibilities

  • The design department activities, depending on experience, may include items such as completing minor drawing revisions, document/report review and writing, supporting failure investigations, updating various department databases and metrics files.
  • Analysis department activities, depending on experience, may include items such as stress analysis hand calculations, simple Finite Element Analysis generation, report generation and or review.
  • Test department activities, depending on experience, will include hands on experience with developing and setting up hydraulic test setups, including circuit design, plumbing installing, hook up and check out of various sensors.  Other activities may include test software programing, test scheduling, and document/report review and writing.
  • The intern will spend a minimum of 1 week in the production assembly department near the beginning of the internship, assembling hydraulic actuators, in order to gain experience and familiarity with Triumph products.
  • Other activities may be assigned as required and depending on demonstrated capability.

  • Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited program for Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Aerospace Engineering .
  • Completed junior year of college.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated fluency in English.
  • Experience with CAD tools.
  • Must provide steel toed/safety shoes.

 

Pay Range:  Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications and experience.

 

Degree Level:

Bachelor - 1st Year of Study:  $18.16 - $22.71/Hour

Bachelor - 2nd Year of Study:  $20.49 - $25.61/Hour

Bachelor - 3rd Year of Study:  $21.06 - $26.33/Hour

Bachelor - 4th Year of Study:  $21.82 - $27.27/Hour

Masters:  $26.72 - $33.41/Hour
