Triumph Actuation Systems – Yakima, Jr. Stress Analyst

Triumph Actuation Systems – Yakima provides design, manufacturing, and repair and overhaul services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, fuses, valves, manifolds, and carrier launched aircraft holdback bars and arresting hook damper/actuators. We maintain a strong capability for systems and component engineering and integration, for commercial, military, and rotorcraft aircraft.  

Jr. Stress Analyst – A key member of a lean departmental engineering team reporting to the Engineering Manager.  The Jr. Stress Analyst is a vital company role that works in concert with the Design Engineers on the execution of assigned projects and tasks. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Program Management
•    Uses knowledge and experience to predict hours required to complete analytical tasks.
•    Working with the assigned Design Engineer, uses knowledge and experience to schedule realistic but aggressive timelines for completion of assigned tasks.

Technical Analytical skills
•    Basic knowledge of classical stress analysis including but not limited to static, fatigue, and vibration analysis.
•    Preparing various analyses necessary to substantiate and support the design of hydro-mechanical components and assemblies.
•    Calculation of stress margins of safety using classical hand calculations and FEA methods.
•    Basic knowledge of FEA methods.
          a.    Ansys Workbench knowledge preferred.
•    Apply creative problem-solving skills to solve challenging hydro-mechanical problems.
•    Review specifications and perform requirements management activities necessary to identify, track, change, validate, and verify customer requirements.

Preferred Technical Analytical skills
•    Familiarity with hydraulic principles.
•    Familiarity with CAD packages such as NX, Solid Edge, or Solid Works.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.  Master’s degree preferred.

Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
