Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation Products and Services designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer.  Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F-14.

Summary
Participate in all aspects of test activities for new and existing products including test fixture requirements evaluation, schematic generation, design, fabrication, set-up, procedure input, and documentation of test results.  Work with product development teams, operations, and customer teams to design and perform product, R&D, quality control/certification testing, define testing schedules, budgets, and provide technical information to the organization as required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
•    Manage test equipment projects from conception thru implementation.
•    Prepare testing schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
•    Perform test equipment cost estimates and manage assigned budgets.
•    Requisition necessary equipment and materials as required.
•    Guide construction and verification of test fixtures and software.
Test System Design & Support
•    Work with all aspects for test systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment & control systems, instrumentation, software/computers, data acquisition, etc.
•    Create/design test equipment and systems.
•    Set up test equipment and systems to achieve technical objectives.
•    Maintain existing test equipment and systems through troubleshooting, improvement, and modification/replacement.
Documentation
•    Maintain documentation including schematics, software documentation, and configuration deliverables.
•    Review and edit test plans and procedures for design verification and acceptance/qualification testing that demonstrates compliance to requirements.
Teamwork & Leadership
•    Active member of a new product development team, providing design-for-testability input to new product designs.
•    Participate in customer-facing activities such as customer-witnessed testing, tours, design reviews, etc.
•    Refine current products for performance and/or quality improvements and cost reductions.
•    Identify safety hazards and implement risk reduction activities to mitigate identified hazards.
•    Perform other duties as required.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•    Electronic engineering degree from an accredited engineering program AND 2+ years’ relevant electronic engineering experience; or 5+ years of relevant experience in an electronic engineering role. 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic design software tools.
•    Knowledge of using electronic test equipment such as VOMs, oscilloscopes, waveform generators.
•    Knowledge of basic circuits such as transistor/FET, operational amplifiers, power supplies, and wiring harnesses/cabling.
•    Knowledge of basic printed circuit board design and working with prototype manufacturing suppliers.
•    Knowledge and some experience in software development, preferably in languages such as C++ and/or C#. Experience with .NET framework and/or SQL databases would be ideal. Knowledge of LabView (or similar control and data acquisition software environment) is also desired.
•    Mechanically inclined and able to learn, design, and work on hydromechanical test fixtures.
•    Basic knowledge of the capabilities of various transducers, instrumentation techniques, and data acquisition for testing such as: load cells, pressure, position/LVDT, proximity sensors, thermocouples, pressure sensors, and flow meters.
•    Experience with hand tools and power tools.
•    Experience in wiring and soldering to production standards.
•    Basic experience in writing procedural documents.


Position Salary Range: $84,900 - $115,400 Annual.   Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education, qualifications and experience.
