Responsibilities

Summary

Responsible for the creation, development, and enhancement of manufacturing processes used in the production of aerospace hydraulic actuators and their components.  Interpret design drawings and specifications, develop production planning, and support manufacturing processes.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops written manufacturing planning, sketches, and other work instructions in accordance with appropriate drawings and specifications to support site production.
  • Use of CAD systems to create fixturing, tooling, and manufacturing models to support the creation and development of manufacturing/machining processes.
  • Works closely with production operators, supervisors, and other functional teams to continually improve product flow and quality.
  • Initiates evaluates and implements process improvements. Understands manufacturing capacity and capabilities planning.
  • Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendor; and soliciting observations from operators.
  • Designs and develops tools (physical and analytical) to assist and improve production processes. Assures product and process quality.
  • Provides production support by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing objectives laid out through site-wide initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                  

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of relatable experience required; OR
  • Associate's degree in an engineering field with 7 years of related experience required;
  • OR Ten (10) years of Aerospace, Automotive, or equivalent Manufacturing Engineering experience is required.
  • Solid working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles, high level of detail and organization, and a desire to gain experience in machining concepts.
  • Precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices
  • Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing Including GD&T
  • Aerospace industry specifications
  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts
  • General knowledge of metallurgical properties including heat treating various types of metals.

Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.  Pursuant to International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), applicants for SELECT positions will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status to meet the minimum qualifications for those select positions.
