Position

The Mechanical Product Support Engineer (PSE), will provide engineering support to various areas of the business focusing primarily on in-service products. The PSE will be a technical expert for assigned product lines and will support and direct engineering activities for those products.
 
This position comes with a considerable amount of 1-on-1 and team interaction, and requires the ability to interface with customers, suppliers, and associates at all levels of the organization. Responsibilities

•Coordinate specific aircraft program technical support activities including resolution of technical problems with in-service hydromechanical products.  
•Represent Triumph technically at airline and aircraft OEM as well as MRO customers.  
•Foster good working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
•Review and disposition non-conforming material.
•Troubleshoot and diagnose field return units and conduct root cause investigations.  
•Coordinate the resolution of in-service product technical problems and execute reliability improvements through concept development, design, and validation with response to customer inquiries for assigned program(s) in a timely manner.
•Prepare for and present technical materials internally and to the customer.
•Generate, review, and monitor project schedules and budgets.  Generate and communicate project performance indices (EV, SPI, CPI, etc.).
•Preparation of component specifications, test plans, and test reports.  Lead and provide oversight of test activities (setup and conduct). 
•Coordinate development of Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and Product Deviation Authorizations.  Maintain field reliability data for assigned products.  
•Prepare and conduct product maintenance and overhaul training.  
•Provide technical support to suppliers, manufacturing, assembly/test, and MRO service centers. 
•Actively participate in new program design/development activities.
•Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing events.

Qualifications

•A minimum of BSME, or equivalent technical/aerospace degree is required. 
•5 to 10 years of mechanical and/or relevant experience in related field.  Experience in design, development, manufacturing, and assembly, a plus.
•Ability to read and interpret design drawings with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
•Hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation skillset (scientific method), particularly with fluid handling equipment.  Experience diagnosing root causes of failures of mechanical controls and/or fluid handling systems, a plus.
•Self-motivated, dynamic, able to work independently with minimal guidance, and as part of a team.
•Ability to multi-task, execute cross-functional activities, and drive project milestones to completion, on time. 
•Must have excellent communication skills with a strong background of technical writing experience.
•Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills are required.
•Travel between West Hartford, CT and Windsor, CT offices with the ability and willingness to occasionally travel longer distances.
