Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

 About the Job:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Publication Specialist to join our West Hartford, CT team.


Responsibilities:
•Create new and revised technical data (including Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Temporary Revisions) for Triumph Engine Control Systems, LLC components. 
•Format documents in accordance with Air Transport Association (ATA) Specification 100, iSpec 2200 and military technical manual formats.
•Maintain the Technical Publications Library (450+ manuals) in both paper and electronic format for Triumph’s West Hartford Repair Station.
•Manage document control of all technical data required for Triumph’s Repair Station, supporting audits as required. Post documents to customer portals, as required.
•Write, edit and proofread technical data, including the detailed and numeric parts lists.
•Distribute technical data internally and to external maintenance centers and airlines. This includes maintenance of several revision status database files, export compliance marking, printing, document verification and preparation for shipment.
•Create line art, block diagrams, schematics, etc. for illustrations in technical data.
•Navigate/search customer’s websites and correspond with customers to obtain technical data required by Triumph West Hartford Repair Station.
•Document and maintain departmental work instructions.
•Support Technical Publications department with document production, to meet internal and external customer requirements.
•Maintain departmental metrics, provide status updates, and track work progress.


 

Qualifications: 
•Proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat software.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand MX.
•Experience with Air Transport Association (ATA) Specifications ATA 100 and iSpec 2200 and familiarity with military technical manual formats. 
•Experience with technical writing, proofreading and editing of technical documents in compliance with ATA 100 and iSpec 2200 specification requirements.
•Technical writing experience using Simplified Technical English in accordance with ASD-STE 100.
•Working knowledge of regulatory requirements of a Part 145 Repair Station, as it relates to Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA). 
•High level of attention to detail and consistency.
•Accuracy in record keeping.
•Organizational skills.
•Ability to accommodate shifting priorities, and audits of adherence to relevant procedures.
•Ability to work independently.
