Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 550 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Triumph is actively recruiting a summer 2021 Systems Engineering Intern to support a range of technical responsibilities in a high pace manufacturing production environment. The internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major that will enhance and complement classroom learning.
The ideal candidate will support activities related to the development and evaluation of engine control systems for small turbine engines and thermal control systems. These activities include developing system-level requirements, test procedure and report generation, test equipment checkout and lab evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Requirements and architecture analysis
- Safety and Failure Mode Analysis
- Control stability analysis and simulations;
- Test procedure automation for product programs;
- Digitizing/organizing legacy products’ paper archives;
- Test procedure automation support and process automation;
- Control system test development, review, and execution;
- Tool development to automate/expedite field return investigation; and
- Control program review and coding support;
- Field problem analysis and solution development.
Qualifications
- Rising Junior or Senior
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word
- Good writing ability
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent resident
