Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 550 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.


Triumph is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with 10-30 years of experience in a precision machining environment.  The manufacturing Engineer specifies and develops operational sequence and manufacturing methods and provides technical support to production.



Primary responsibilities for this position include:


  • Develop, prepare, and maintain manufacturing process routings, drawings, and tool sheets
  • Improve quality performance by identifying and eliminating the variation in the process
  • Provide technical support regarding all safety and ergonomics issues within the area
  • Drive cost reductions to support the business performance
  • Work closely with Team Leaders, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain in order to meet customer expectations
  • Design and procure tooling, gaging, and write CNC programs to support the manufacturing process instructions
  • Perform root case analysis and corrective actions on component non-conforming material
  • Maintain good working relationship with customers
  • Train employees as necessary with the processes for processing components
  • Develop quotations for components
  • Lead the introduction of new shafts, gears, and valves into Operations
  • Review and approve engineering drawings for manufacturing of legacy and new products
  • Lead PPAP, MPC, PFMEA and SPC activities with other supporting team members in the manufacturing area
  • Use problem solving tools in driving to root cause and developing corrective actions
  • Lead continuous improvement teams focused on waste reduction and first pass yield improvements
  • Perform other tasks as required or assigned

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other schooling and 10+ years’ experience in machining
  • Understands and uses continuous improvement tools
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented
  • Applies proven technology independently

Desired Qualifications


  • 10-30 years manufacturing engineering experience
  • 5-20 years of CAD/CAM software knowledge
  • Experience with turning, hobbing, shaping, cylindrical grinding, lapping
  • CNC programming with G and M codes
  • Aerospace Industry Experience preferred
