Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls employs approximately 500 people.  The Company’s key products and services include the design, development, certification, manufacture and repair of fuel pumps, fuel metering units, fuel controls, thermal systems and electronic engine control systems for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft servicing military, commercial, regional and business jet market segments.

 
Triumph is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Program Scheduler / Project Engineer to join our Engineering Group organization located in our West Hartford facility.

 

The Scheduler job description calls for an individual who is highly organized and understands the processes that drive programs / project execution. The successful applicant will work within the Engineering and the Program Office and is responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of multiple program schedules, working closely with both Program Managers and Project Engineers. This person will also demonstrate the ability to execute successful product development programs for new or modified products from concept design through production transition.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains various project schedules ensuring that documentation is accurate and timely
  • Communicates with internal customers when there are schedule variations
  • Supports the use of MS Project by providing expert advice and support to others
  • Communicates critical path information across a facility so that everyone is aware of key actions
  • Reconciles inaccuracies with program schedules
  • Ensures that the organization receive schedules in a timely manner
  • Works directly with employees to resolve scheduling issues
  • Documents key information including slack time, over runs, critical path and resource deficiencies
  • Balance multiple projects and tasks as the norm
  • Review/monitor schedule and budget commitments relative to assigned projects and communicate risks to management.
  • Ensure new product development procedures are adhered to and that recommendations for continuous improvement relative to lessons learned are communicated and incorporated into revised procedures.
  • Identify process and product improvements (new products and legacy products) and implement changes.
  • Multi-task, execute cross-functional activities, and drive projects to successfully meet key milestones.
  • Foster good working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field is preferred. Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, etc) a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years of related projects/scheduling experience required.
  • Proficiency and prior experience using Microsoft Project and Excel required.
  • Prior experience within the aerospace industry a plus.
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills needed.
  • Understands how to document goals and deviations from these goals on a regular basis
  • Shows the ability to understand project milestones and how to alter execution for optimal impact
  • Demonstrates at least basic knowledge of Engineering activities
  • Shows that they can work efficiently under pressure and help motivate others to meet demands
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience working in product development teams creating project plans, performing risk assessments, and working resource plans necessary for successful program execution.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
