Production Welder

Overview

 

Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 550 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

 

We are currently seeking a production Welder to Perform duties associated with both qualifying and welding in accordance to the American Welding Society (AWS) specifications in a manufacturing aerospace environment.  The operations are medium to complex difficulty and performed with little supervision. 

Responsibilities

 

Tasks include but are not limited to:

 

Welding in accordance to AWS specifications in an aerospace environment.

  • Ability to use measuring equipment and tools.
    • Fillet gages
    • Vernier
    • Height gages
    • Scales
  • Ability to meet and maintain all requirements of AWS D17.1
    • Pass Performance Qualification Testing
      • In-house Burst Testing
      • Outside Metallurgical Testing
    • Weld to a Weld Procedure Specification
    • Able to pass an annual vision test
    • Maintain continuity log to maintain qualifications
    • Observe all safety practices required and wear required Personal Protection Equipment.
  • General run of manufacturing operations, weld equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions and other documents.
  • Able to maintain and process necessary paperwork.
  • Work instructions, documentations and specifications range to complex.  A wide variety of tools and equipment are used.

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Additional technical school certifications a plus.
  • 5 years’ experience preferred. 2 years’ minimum experience of GTAW welding required.
  • Experience must include the welding of aluminum, steel and stainless steel.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people and diverse levels of personnel and work well in a team.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Torch brazing skills a plus.

  • Ability to continuously stand for up to a few hours at a time.
