Triumph Systems & Support provides a full range of integrated solutions for aircraft manufactures around the globe. We partner with key manufacturers to produce crucial components, systems and subsystems required to help maintain a competitive and technological advantage. We provide design, development and support of internally designed components, subsystems and systems, as well as production of complex assemblies using external designs. 
 
Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics & Controls employs approximately 500 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include specializing in the design, development, certification, manufacture and repair of fuel pumps, fuel metering units, fuel controls and electronic engine control systems for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft servicing military, commercial, regional and business jet market segments.

 

We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our West Hartford Supply Chain team.  In this role, you will coordinate the procurement and distribution of aerospace materials, parts, equipment and supplies for the organization by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
  • Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.
  • Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity.
  • Understands the different levels of complexity in various quote packages and can evaluate proposal responses accordingly.
  • Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
  • Evaluates the most appropriate supplier to be used for various purchased items and advises team members and/or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
  • Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs. Cost control and reduction is a key metric of this role.
  • Implements purchase contracts (ie Purchase orders, etc) that comply with company and government regulations.
  • Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company. Drives On Time delivery above 95% overall from all key suppliers.
  • Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records and compliance with all department procedures and goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in procurement or related field in a manufacturing environment preferred.  Will consider recent graduates with related internship experience.  Aerospace experience a plus.
  • Experience working with casting and machining commodities a plus. 
  • Experience with DFAR compliance is a plus
  • Ability to function well in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of MRP software preferred; JD Edwards a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as material specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints is highly desirable but not required.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of internal customers or employees of the organization.
  • Proficient with MS Office products.
