Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join our West Hartford, CT team.
The Mechanical Field Service Engineer (FSE), will provide engineering support to a variety of customers and operators who purchase and use Triumph components and systems, focusing primarily on in-service products. The FSE will be a technical expert for assigned product lines and will provide training, support, troubleshooting, and guidance to customers and end users.
 

This position comes with a considerable amount of 1-on-1 and team interaction, and requires the ability to interface with customers, suppliers, and associates at all levels of the organization. Responsibilities

•Coordinate specific aircraft program technical support activities including resolution of technical problems with in-service products.  
•Represent Triumph technically at airline and aircraft OEM as well as MRO customers.  
•Foster good working relationships with customers, operators, suppliers, and internal departments.
•Troubleshoot operational problems with Triumph products at a system level on engine, aircraft, or at bench test.
•Prepare for and present technical materials internally and to customers and operators.
•Participate in development of Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, and Service Letters.  
•Prepare and conduct product operation, maintenance, overhaul, system integration, and fault isolation training.  
•Support new program design/development activities with knowledge of real-world application issues encountered.
•Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing events.

Qualifications

•A minimum of BSME, or equivalent technical/aerospace degree is required. 
•Minimum 5 years of mechanical, systems, and/or relevant experience in related field.
•Experience in design and/or development a plus.
•A mechanics license or ability to obtain a license, is required.
•Hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation skillset (scientific method), particularly with fluid handling equipment and electronic control systems.  Experience diagnosing root causes of failures of mechanical controls, fluid handling, and electronic control systems, a plus.
•Experience in control system design, a plus.
•Self-motivated, dynamic, able to work independently with minimal guidance, and as part of a team.
•Ability to multi-task and execute cross-functional activities.
•Must have excellent communication skills with a strong background of technical writing experience.
•Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills are required.
•Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
