Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity for a Thermal Systems Engineer Intern to join our West Hartford, CT team. The ideal candidate will support activities related to the development and evaluation of compressors and vapor cycle thermal management systems. These activities include developing system-level requirements using analysis, test procedure and report generation, test equipment checkout and lab evaluations.
- Requirements and architecture analysis
- Data collection and processing
- Control stability tuning
- Test procedure automation support and process automation
- Thermal system test development, review, and execution
- Tool development to automate/expedite data and/or system analysis calculations
- System modeling program review and coding support
- Test troubleshooting analysis and solution development
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Understanding of thermodynamic cycles and control volume analysis
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Experience with Labview and/or Matlab a plus
- Ability to work in a team environment collaborating with Engineers and Interns, or other relevant personnel
- Candidates must be a US Citizens or a US Permanent Resident
