Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Inspector, Plantwide Ops (2nd Shift) to join our West Hartford, CT team.

The Inspector, Plantwide Ops will Prepare for and perform inspection of assembly and test operations on the full line of assembled products, sub assembly units, electronic components, and related accessories.  Setup and perform a wide variety of operations in connection with the layout and inspecting of a wide diversity of components, castings, assemblies, details, and gages.  Procedures are standardized to a medium degree.  Production and prototype inspection methods may be done manually or with automated equipment.

Responsibilities

•The operations are of medium difficulty.  
•Make all prescribed standard and non-standard inspection of fits, alignment, clearness, function, dimensional relationship, wiring and diaphragm assembly.  
•Spot check and visual inspect all standard and non-standard air box, full flow, altitude, leak, pump, bellows, jet and functional tests in accordance with specifications. 
•Accept or reject item on basis of function within acceptable limits, check for dirt, chips, and missing or damaged parts.  
•Record details and keep log of pertinent inspection data.  
•Set up and perform a wide variety of operations in connection with inspecting a wide diversity of components and detail parts.   
•Perform first piece and inspect a combination of machined surfaces and related dimensions.  Perform complete inspection of assembly and test operations and perform other details necessary to complete assigned work. 
•Procedures are standardized to a medium degree.
•Work out some details when inspecting a piece of work for the first time.  
•As required, perform simple layouts and work out details to instructions provided.  Position, locate, adjust and secure work and measuring tools and equipment to obtain measurements working to machined surfaces.  
•Check surfaces such as threads, slots, straight, tapered, angular and formed areas of concentricity, eccentricity, size, parallelism, squareness, finish, and roundness.  
•Check for finish and material defects. Inspect assemblies for proper wiring, fit torque, wear, etc., and proper paperwork. 
•Perform mathematical calculations necessary to complete work assignment including computing dimensions using handbooks, formulas and tables.  
•Perform line checks for involutes, lead, and spacing per process sheets.  
•Provide data concerning items that are not to specifications. 
•Train and assist other inspectors in specific inspection techniques, and the setup, programming, and operation of automated inspection equipment as necessary.   
•Perform other details necessary to complete assigned work.
•Blueprints and specifications range to complex. 
•Tolerances range to close.  Perform limits range to close.  
•Finish ranges to fine.  
•Wide variety of measuring tools, including coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and medium diversity of test equipment used.
