Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Industrial Engineer to join our West Hartford, CT Team. The Plant Industrial Engineer will be involved with all aspects of Industrial Engineering associated with the manufacturing of various aerospace products.  This role requires an understanding of the various systems for producing Aerospace products and all the facility equipment to support these products.

Responsibilities

•Work on diagnosing electrical controls issues for a large variety of equipment throughout the facility
•Create economical solutions for repairing electronic controls repairs  
•Assist all maintenance employees with mechanical and electrical repairs as necessary
•Recommend cost reductions solutions to support the overall business performance
•Work closely with High Performance Leaders, Team Leaders, Engineers, Quality Engineers, Operators and Machinists in order to meet both internal and external customer expectations
•Improve our productivity performance by reducing waste and improving the processing for maintaining equipment
•Improve our quality performance by identifying and eliminating the variation with our equipment and processes
•Assist root cause and corrective actions activities to support our quality requirements for our equipment and our products
•Review and understand of plantwide engineering drawings related to the facility infrastructure for possible growth, especially with the power requirement needed across the site.
•Maintain good working relationship with all internal customers. Keep customers informed of projects and solutions as necessary
•Develop both MER and CER proposal for production and site improvements
•Participate with New Product Introduction teams for facility upgrades to support future business growth
•Recommend site-wide facility improvements to support our Environmental Health and Safety initiatives
•Provide technical support regarding all safety and ergonomics issues
•Participate in cross functional problem solving activities with direct labor employees solving equipment problems brought up from the floor.
•Experience providing assistance to maintenance mechanics and operators
•Ability to search and procure a variety of components to repairs equipment

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Industrial, mechanical, electrical or related field from an accredited university or college
•Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Industrial Engineering position within a manufacturing environment
•5+ years engineering experience within a manufacturing environment leading and participating in complex technical improvements
•5+ years experienced with Facility troubleshooting challenges and pro-active solutions to building improvements
•Strong analytical skills (specifically Excel, Minitab or other statistical analysis software)
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented
•Understands and uses continuous improvement tools
•Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
•Aerospace Industry Experience preferred
