Short Description

Triumph Systems, Electronics & Controls is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 550 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets and thermal systems products.
 
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our organization as an HR Generalist.  As a member of a small Human Resource’s team in a highly engineered, unionized manufacturing environment, you will be expected to work autonomously and use sound judgment in prioritizing work tasks while supporting members of the HR and management team to meet department & business objectives.  This position will also have significant interaction with both union and non-union personnel and will be expected to handle issues in a timely manner with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.  
 
The HR Generalist will be responsible for implementing and managing the necessary human resources strategy to meet the business objectives of the Company. Included are recruiting, organizational development, employee relations, salary administration, performance management, rewards & remuneration, succession planning, training & development, AAP and EEO related programs.

Responsibilities

•Support the site Human Resources function in deploying HR policies, programs and initiatives including but not limited to employment, compensation, employee relations, training, talent acquisition and development, work practices and employee selection to improve the site’s organization capability.
•Support daily employee related activities and processes to promote positive employee relations.
•Conducts new employee orientations; monitors career pathing program, writes and places advertisements.
•Conduct recruiting activities which includes interviews and selection, insuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
•Employment processing and recruiting requisition processing to ensure integrity in all HR systems with timely, accurate data entry & frequent audits.
•Conduct general or specific training sessions where needed.
•Provide counsel and support to resolve interpersonal conflicts and employee relations issues.
•Work with supervisors/managers on effective handling of retention, performance management, and engagement strategies.
•Supports compensation and performance evaluation programs.
•Develops and maintains affirmative action program; maintains other records, reports to conform to EEO regulations.
•Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
•Responsible for running and creating reports, analyzing information and providing/analyzing data.

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
•5+ years related experience within a union manufacturing environment.
•Understanding of local labor considerations.
•Knowledge of HR/people systems (Knowledge of SuccessFactors a plus.)
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people in a fair and consistent manner
•Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
•Professional, exercise sound judgment and experience maintaining confidential information.
•Strong Microsoft Office computer skills and ability to quickly learn various programs.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship on a permanent basis.
