Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Position
Triumph is actively recruiting a Test Engineering Technician to support its growing hydro mechanical capabilities.
The ideal candidate will support activities in developing and maintaining test equipment used to test the functionality of mechanical fuel pump, thermal components and actuator system units for the aerospace industry. Job duties include providing a broad range of hardware/software/system support for design development, testing, repair, upgrade and maintenance services for the manufacturing and engineering test equipment.
Responsibilities
•Support test equipment for the hydro mechanical and thermal systems engineering group that supports testing of fuel pump, thermal components and actuator systems.
•Complete tasks associated with project schedules for automatic test equipment development projects from conception through implementation.
•Help troubleshoot test equipment that are integrated into and/or peripheral to the test stands.
•Having working knowledge of flow meters, pressure transducers, solenoid valves and accelerometers.
•Having working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems.
•Knowledge of LabView programming
•Familiar with manual and automated test equipment.
Qualifications
•Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering. BS a plus.
•1 to 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems and analysis, and feedback controls performance, fluid dynamics, test engineering and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties.
•Able to create and read hydraulic and electrical test equipment schematics.
•Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and have a strong skill in the Microsoft suite applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio).
•Skills in troubleshooting mechanical and discrete wiring control systems.
•Work and execute independently with minimal technical oversight and general direction.
•Ability and willingness to travel between sites that are 15 miles apart approximately 25%.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Recent experience using LabVIEW graphical programming, CRIO hardware, real time and FPGA.
•CAD knowledge and experience in documentation of test systems.
•Demonstrated capabilities in failure analysis and troubleshooting of complex systems.
•Basic knowledge of flow measurements of fluids/fuel.
•Knowledge of electronic motor drives and PLC programming.
