Position

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Systems Engineer to join our West Hartford, CT team.  The Systems Engineer will work in a team environment to develop and support products closely coordinated with customers, the Program Management organization and other engineering disciplines.  

Responsibilities include the following:

•System definition (software, electronics and mechanical)
•Detailed trade studies and analysis
•System modelling and system validation
•Requirements definition/allocation
•System integration and test
•Formal hardware and software verification
•Customer aircraft/system test support
•Test equipment design and fabrication
•Analyzing system and software functional requirements to determine how the system responds to failures.
•Analyzing the system architecture to determine the effect of failures on the system and aircraft.
•Performing a System Safety Analysis to demonstrate that the product is safe for use in the aircraft.
•Performing a Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to predict the failures that could occur with the product and how the failures will affect the rest of the system and aircraft.
•Reviewing product reliability data and identifying failure trends.
•Developing plans for product reliability testing.
•Monitoring and reporting of reliability testing results.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the commercial and military aircraft business and possess many of the attributes listed below:

 


•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering required; MS degree a plus.
•Prior related internship experience preferred.
•System design skills required, including development of system architectures, trade studies and requirements/specification development.
•Strong knowledge of system sizing/analysis tools (Matlab Simulink)
•Demonstrated capabilities in failure analysis and troubleshooting complex systems
•Able to read and understand complex logic diagrams, source code and electronic schematics.
•Strong communication skills as well as ability to work well in a team environment.
•Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5-10%.
