Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Specialist to join our West Hartford, CT team.
Responsibilities
•Completes all required OSHA and environmental reports
•Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to improve overall Health and Safety performance across the site
•Managing and facilitating internal audit and inspection programs related to Health and Safety
•Provide Health and Safety technical expertise to the review of equipment modifications, ATEX assessments and capital installations
•Providing education and training to facility personnel on appropriate safety and environmental programs
•Providing Health and Safety technical support for site specific initiatives and projects
•Assist with the design, implementation, maintenance and review of the sites Environmental program to ensure compliance with legislative, corporate and industry requirements
•Provide Environmental advice and technical expertise in the form of policies, guidelines, procedures including practical involvement and demonstrations thereby fulfilling the legal requirement of a competent person
•Help maintain the Environmental Management program to ensure full compliance with Corporate and Statutory requirements.
•Perform periodic evaluations to ensure compliance with environmental permits, plans, policies and regulatory requirements
•Implementation of the EHS programs aimed at reducing injury and illness rates, enhancing communication in the workforce and ensuring regulatory compliance
•Conduct daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly inspections to ensure compliance with EHS programs on remote locations, offsite facilities, and in house
•Collect and input data pertaining to employee, extras, and actors man hours, verifying accuracy
•Collection, review and trend analysis of injury and illness data
•Coordinate and assist with safety committee meetings, production safety meetings, trainings, orientations
•Assist with the evaluation and selection of Personal Protective Equipment
Qualifications
Licensing or Certifications for EHS Specialist:
•CPR, ASP, CSP, OSHA, CHST, CIH, CMSP, OHST, ISO, EHS
•Bachelor's and University Degree in Health, Engineering, Industrial, Science, Education, Technical, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Manufacturing, Management
