Triumph Systems, Electronics & Controls is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 550 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.


Triumph is actively recruiting an Operations Electronics Product Support Engineer to provide exceptional technical support and robust solutions to problems in the Electronic Value Stream. The position requires advance skills in the following areas: analog and digital circuitry knowledge, data analysis skills, lean manufacturing principles, methodical problem solving techniques, and ability to execute process improvements. A key element of this position is solving complex technical problems in a high pace production environment. A successful candidate must be comfortable performing Electronic Control Unit (ECU) diagnostic at unit assembly and sub assembly level, leading investigations, driving root cause, working with a cross functional team, initiating design change requests, justifying capital expenditure, and continuously looking for ways to improve the business.



  • Diagnose and repair complex system and circuit level faults
  • Accurately document isolation steps and findings in failure reports
  • Lead technical investigations for trending failure modes
  • Assist technicians by solving challenging technical problems out of their reach
  • Pro-actively look for ways to improve test and troubleshoot processes
  • Heighten focus on Cost of Poor Quality burndown (inventory reduction)
  • Utilize a systematic approach to gain root cause during all investigations
  • Provide substantiation for design changes and/or process improvements
  • Thoroughly analyze test data for insight and direction during the troubleshoot process
  • Take appropriate actions to support dispositioning of nonconformance tickets
  • Support business initiatives by participating in Policy Development activities
  • Drive cost reduction by eliminating waste in the test, troubleshoot, and build processes
  • Pro-actively review test data to identify trends and Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) concerns
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, A3, DIVE, and other problem solving tools in driving to Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Participate in design reviews and toll-gates for assigned products
  • Partner with Supply Chain to resolve supplier caused non-conformances and defects
  • Ensure overall compliance to Triumph internal processes
  • Work closely with Team Leaders, Technicians, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain in order to meet customer expectations



  • 5+ years Electrical/Electronic Engineering experience within a Manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field is required.
  • Strong technical background with working experience of Analog and Digital circuitry.
  • Methodical approach toward troubleshooting and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Ability to read and interpret Schematics and PCBA files.
  • Innovative approach for driving process efficiencies and cost reductions.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages (Visual Basic, C++, Java, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially MS Excel.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Minimum of 5 years technical and test experience in Electronics and/or Manufacturing.
  • Working experience with CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol.
  • Ability to read and write LabView code.
  • Experience with JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) Test routines.
  • Simulation Tools (LTSpice, Intusoft, MathWorks/Simulink).
  • Analysis Tools (Mathcad, MS Excel, Minitab, MS Access).
  • Ability to train others on Diagnostic Equipment and Tools related to ECU products.
  • Schedule Tracking (MS Project).
