Overview

Triumph Engine Control Systems’ Electronics Engineering department is looking to fill a position for a Technical Specialist with deep knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Conduction (EMC), Lightning, and Environmental (ENV) activities, in our West Hartford, CT location. 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent technical, analytical and technical writing skills, be comfortable communicating with internal customers and team-members, must be self-motivated and possess good interpersonal/team skills. 

 

Experience with generating EMI, EMC, Lightning and ENV test procedures, writing technical reports, and working with multiple types of lab equipment including meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, amplifiers, antennas, injection cores, and data acquisition systems are all required skills.
The candidate may work with various engineers and managers across multiple disciplines, including Systems, Electrical Design, Project and Program Office. The candidate will be required to perform multiple tests independently, either onsite or offsite.

Qualifications

•Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering. Associates Degree may be considered
•More than 2-years of relevant EMI, EMC, Lightning and ENV test and documentation experience.  Prior aerospace experience preferred.
•Familiarity with the above-mentioned equipment
•Excellent written and verbal skills.
•Willing to Travel, with possible overnight stays at offsite test locations.
•Able to generate EMI Control Plans
•Able to generate EMI, EMC, Lightning Test Procedures
•Familiar with most EMI/EMC/Lightning Test Equipment
•Able to generate reports
•Able to present data to internal and external customers


Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

Technical

  • EMI, EMC, Lightning Standards in RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461
  • ENV Standards in RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD 810
  • Tile programs (customized scripts)
  • Documentation Tools (MS Word/PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe, Nuance)

Non-Technical

  • Schedule Tracking (MS Project)
  • Internet (SharePoint, Intranet)
