The Strategic Sourcing Director is responsible to develop strategies and objectives driving improvements in both the supply chain and the sourcing process. This role will provide the leadership and direction for the management, identification, implementation, and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities. 




•    Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, cost reductions, Long-term agreements, supplier activities and efficiencies.
•    Work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation. Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements. 
•    Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and new markets as business requirements dictate. 
•    Develop and drive annual Supply Chain cost savings programs and process and implement business strategies that directly affect the bottom line and growth plans. 
•    Develop multiple region sources of supply including emerging market sourcing regions. 
•    Led, direct, and manage a team of commodity managers.
•    Negotiate year-over-year cost reductions and long-term agreements, and drive improved LTA % across the TSS business.
•    Manage the Cost Management Project Tracker (CMPT) process across the TSS BU, and Drive savings programs throughout the organization.
•    Prepare and present monthly operating metrics for Savings, LTA status, project updates, trends, and material variance reports.
•    Lead discussions and negotiations on commercial supply for new and existing materials.
•    Continuously improve sourcing processes through the implementation of new tools and processes.


  • BS in Business Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline. MBA a plus.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in the development and sourcing of products from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Previous experience managing a supply chain team.
  • Manufacturing experience a must. Candidates with industrial, aerospace, or automotive backgrounds a plus!
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean.  Lean certified preferred.
  • Ability to interpret data quickly and elevate potential issues to appropriate level of review.
  • Familiarity with Government regulations including ITAR and Export Control.
  • Working knowledge of ERP applications, specifically related to MRP and Inventory Control. SAP or JDE experience a plus.
  • Advanced MS Office application skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • APICs certification, CPIM, CPM.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
