Chief Engineer Thermal Systems

The position is primarily remote approximately with Bi-monthly visits to the WH site.

Required skills/experience:

  • Ability to generate creative solutions to technical problems
  • Experience with design, development, and manufacture of Aerospace Vapor Cycle cooling systems
  • Exp. performing
    • Structural analysis – hand calcs and linear and non-linear FEA with extensive reporting expertise and customer interaction
    • Vibration testing and analysis
    • Detailed critical speed analysis for high speed
    • Containment design
    • High speed rotating machinery
    • Bearing specification and/or design
    • Knowledge of lubrication
    • CAD to requirements
    • Packaging complex systems
    • Qualification testing and reporting
  • Requirements development
  • GD&T knowledge and experience
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Willingness to mentor


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred
  • 10+ years Design Experience in aerospace industry
  • Heat exchanger performance specification and/or design
  • Pump specification and/or design
  • Fan specification and/or design
  • Basic knowledge of design of fluid distribution systems
  • Basic knowledge of air distribution design
  • Compressor design
  • pressure vessel design
  • Experience with NX and/or CATIA v5
  • Experience using PDM systems
  • Knowledge and application of welding and brazing processes
