Responsibilities

This position will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate all activities associated with purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies.  Sources, negotiates, and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.  Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.  Monitors performance of suppliers.  Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.  Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions.  Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.  Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects, or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.  May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

Qualifications

    Recruits and maintains suppliers who provide high quality products and services at a better price with reduced turn times, while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
    Develops a vendor evaluation system to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
    Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
    Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
    Designs, implements, manages, and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
    Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notice. 
    Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
    Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications. 
    Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
    Assigns procurement request to the appropriate personnel.
    Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
    Monitors inventory in all warehouses on a monthly basis by analyzing receipts and deliveries and coordinating cycle counts according to SOX requirements.
    Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
    Communicates with all areas in the plant. 
    Performs other duties as assigned
