The Production Supervisor will lead the activities of 50-60 employees, creation and validation of new product introductions, provide leadership, and work with all functional leaders, such as Production Control, Manufacturing Engineers, and Program Management on the deployment of newer technologies, with a relentless focus on continual improvement. This role shall be directly responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the machine centers to ensure the department is able to form and shape metal by various fabrication methods while exceeding established schedules, metrics, goals, and objectives.

  • Assist in the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the responsible departments. 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing concerns and resolving issues.
  • Attends Production meetings to report status of work in progress and coordinate with other departments to assure efficiency of workflow
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Drives continuous improvement and optimization of all processes and prepares required reports.
  • Drives daily run output at multiple machine work centers for CNC mills and lathes and reviews variance of hourly part count to planned estimates and actual results.
  • Establishes Key Process Indicators and publishes Daily, weekly, monthly metrics with action items for recovery and improvement.
  • Develops staff for cross training and flexibility. Documents training and effectiveness.
  • Analyzes material usage and yield loss and reduces scrap and identifies geometrical dimensioning tolerance conflicts for viability and validation.
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 7+ years manufacturing supervisory experience in a continuous flow manufacturing environment to include application of LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: share/communicate ideas & solutions across cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on, action oriented, no-nonsense problem solver with a keen eye on process improvement and the bottom line.
  • The ability to develop partnerships and influence others.                                   
  • Demonstrated project management skills.                                                               
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact effectively with management from other functions.              
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
