Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible in creating and improving manufacturing procedures and estimates, utilizing the best techniques, technology and Lean practices to maintain current business, win new business, and be profitable.

SUMMARY
Responsible for the creation, development, and enhancement of manufacturing processes used in the production of aerospace hydraulic actuators and their components. In this role, you will be required to interpret design drawings and specifications, develop production planning, perform data analytics, and support manufacturing processes. To be successful as a AME3, you should have solid working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles, high level of detail and organization, and a desire to gain experience in machining concepts. Must be able to perform all functions of the role with little to no supervision. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Manufacturing Operations
  • Specifies detailed planning of individual products and processes. 
  • Provides support for manufacturing to correct, improve or initiate processes/tooling or methods in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for developing and recommending courses of action in manufacturing. 
  • Prepares and reviews forms and procedures to promote efficiency of operation. 
  • Develops design, and install methods, processes, material handling and workstation equipment to facilitate the handling of material and parts in manufacturing.
  • Prepares part programs and related information for CNC areas. 
  • MRB support in rework instructions and corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Create engineering change actions
  • Prepares manpower and machine loading data and conducts capacity studies. 
  • Drive Manufacturing Improvements
  • Working with operators to solve problems and make improvements
  • Evaluating current machining operations and improving them to save time
  • Developing cost studies, briefing recommendations and implementing improvements in tools, equipment, process and materials.
  • Seeking and implementing new technology and techniques to achieve and maintain world class performance
  • Coordinating and aiding in the preparing capital asset and expenditure budgets.
  • Investigating and analyzing requests for additions or changes in equipment and facility requirements. 
  • Support Estimating and New Product Introduction process
  • Participates in Engineering design reviews on new products and design changes.
  • Evaluate and recommend new material and products for production use.
  • Develop estimates for time and resources to machine a part.
  • Create Manufacturing Plans
  • Create Work Instructions
  • Creating Machine Programs

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Complex work, under direction as to assignments.
Responsible for results and costs. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE                               
Minimum:
•    Either:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of relatable experience.

Or

  • Associates degree in an engineering field with 7 years of related experience. 

Or

  • 10 years of Aerospace, Automotive, or equivalent Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of and experience with:
  • Precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices.
  • Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
  • Including GD&T.
  • Strong experience with CAD and CAM Software (SolidWorks, CATIAv5 and Mastercam). Must be able to create machine programs in G-Code.
  • Aerospace industry specifications.
  • Cross functional RCCA efforts.
  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts
  • General knowledge of metallurgical properties including heat treating various types of metals.
  • Data analytics for monitoring and controlling Manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Applications. To be used in recording and communicating efforts and or statuses. 
  • Team based problem solving.
  • Aerospace experience a plus.
     

Salary: $88,500 - $132,700
