Short Description
Operate lamination equipment in the production of flexible laminates for use in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Liaison between both first and second shift communicating work statement requirements
- Lead as part of a three (3) man laminating team assigning and assisting with work statement
- Monitor quality of raw material as well as finished goods
- Provide samples to quality control personnel as required
- Move, load and unload inventory and other materials and equipment utilizing a variety of motorized forklifts and manual handling devises
- Perform change over activities including roll and adhesive clean-up
- Record data transactions related to the use, production and movement of materials
- Assist in maintenance, slitting and traffic as needed and directed
- Special projects and assignments as needed
- Set up machine controls in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Monitor adhesive level lay down, material tracking and oven temperature
- Monitor all machine controls readouts
- Preparation of coater room for each particular product run
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Micro Soft Excel spreadsheet data entry experience required
Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years lamination and or coating experience required
- Experience operating mixing equipment, oxidizers or slitters is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude is preferred
- Knowledge of adhesive formulations preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Organization, cleanliness, adherence to company policies/procedures, attention to quality, attention to details and accuracy of paperwork are important facets of this position
- Perform all job related, activities in a safe effective and efficient manner within the companies stated policies, procedures and standards of practicing including those related to Environmental Health and Safety
- Minimize waste and avoid scrap
- Maximize efficiency reduce downtime

Decision Making/Supervision/Resource Authority:
- Will be assigning and assisting with the workload of a three, man team. Responsible for communication between 1st and 2nd shift Lean Laminator Operator.
Equipment/Tools Used:
- Production – Lamination machine, slitters, oxidizers, operating mixing equipment Office equipment to include telephones and computer systems and software
Environment/Physical Factors:
- Work is customarily performed in the production environment setting with a normal temperature range
- Lifting is generally up to 50lbs
- Sitting, as needed for paperwork, fork lift operation and other duties
- Stooping and crouching, crawling, walking, climbing, are regular requirements of this position when operating production equipment
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, carrying, grasping and gripping are regular requirements of this position
- Speaking, and listening are a critical requirement for this position
- Workplace chemicals: Solvents, solvent fumes, adhesives, lubricants, coolants and propane are regularly used for this position
- Heat, outside work and cold are occasional outside work required for this requirement
- Travel: No travel is required for this position
- Noise exposures are: atmospheric exposures, motor noise and fan noise
