Responsibilities
- Primary function is to support all manner of Stuart on-site tooling activity by serving as the liaison between any combination of site, homeroom and vendor contributors. This includes, but is not limited to change management, new product introduction, product transition and all documentation regarding tooling throughout the lifecycle of the program.
- Position requires extensive knowledge of aircraft tooling fabrication, design and procurement processes
- Ability to create and develop initial tooling plan (cost, schedule, quality, ROI and feasibility) in coordination with Manufacturing Engineering
- Provide tooling SME support and collaboration with homeroom and outside suppliers for tool design and factory process development and integration.
- Support engineering regarding design concepts and potential tooling solutions to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Assist with and lead impact analysis of change packages
- Assist with and lead Audit activities concerning tooling
- Support IPT commodity managers to achieve program performance and schedule.
- Familiar with (SOW, ESOW, MESOW, SAP, MES, TDR, TDAR, etc.), functional, product and process response documents.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and 10+ years related experience.
- Ability to support any size team with pre-planning, project scheduling, budget control and project management.
- The individual must possess outstanding communication skills that enable him/her to work independently with related disciplines.
- Candidate must have strong computer skills and should have experience using Enovia, Catia V5, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and SAP.
- Understands Aerospace Tooling, Design-for Manufacturing/Assembly, and Aerospace tooling and manufacturing concepts as applied to tools, equipment, automation, inspection and buy-off
- Understanding of Aerospace tooling model and drawing interrogation, FSDA methodology and GD&T is a major plus.
- Pursuant to International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), applicants for SELECT positions will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status in order to meet the minimum qualifications for those select positions. All inquiries related to citizenship are asked solely to comply with ITAR and EAR export licensing requirements.
