The purpose of this position is: Direct supervision of production employees. Perform a variety of duties consisting of developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing and assembly processes to produce products in accordance with company and customer requirements.


  • Responsible for the direct supervision of production employees and meeting manufacturing, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Provide manufacturing process support services to existing plant activities as well as new project and development activities.
  • Provide operator training and written job instructions.
  • Identification of inefficiencies, bottle necks and downtime issues, ultimately leading to design proposals and implementation of solutions.
  • Scheduling resources and Direct Labor reporting for assembly personnel.
  • Order and control of non-inventory Materials used in production (i.e. identification and oversight including lot control and management of time sensitive materials).
  • Development, Recommendation, and Implementation of methodologies to initiate and improve process and overall plant efficiency.
  • Utilize root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize manning calculations, time studies and Takt times using cellular and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Incorporate engineering changes into the manufacturing process.
  • Generate cost improvements via reduction of cost, improved quality and increased efficiency.
  • Oversee and procure and set-up tooling and equipment for manufacturing of products.
  • Promote teamwork and build a culture of continuous improvement and employee empowerment.
  • Promote safety and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.


  • Associates Degree or completion of a technical speciality program or equivalent combination of education and training required bachelor's degree or equivalent in-depth specialized training program preferred.
  • Education preferably in engineering or technical field and have a minimum 4 years of relevant experience in lean manufacturing environment, including experience in Kaizen. Six Sigma, plant layout and planning.
  • High level of judgement, analytic ability and reativity, such as investigating moderately complex problems, or situations, analyzing information , and recommending solutions.
  • performance of complex tasks requiring extensive knowledge of Department's work.
  • Follow defined work procedures such manuals/guidelines/ and /or references: manufacturing instructions, quality regulations, BOM, blueprints and similar manufacturing instructions.
