Responsibilities

  • Meet production requirements consistent with the business plan, engineering requirements and quality standards.
  • Manufacturing Engineering efforts on new and existing product lines.
  • Training and development needs for the workforce.
  • Lean initiatives
  • Support to all areas of the organization (Design, Manufacturing, Materials, Planning, Quality) in production of company products.
  • Process audits, risk assessments, PFMEA’s, process documentation.
  • Participate in manufacturability reviews in support of new product development.  Participate in design reviews internally and externally with customers.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an aviation or aerospace environment is a plus.  Experience within other high precision, highly regulated industries is a must.
  • Emphasis in experience has to be in a hand assembly operation of hardware, components, mechanisms and finished products rather than an operation dominated by a process operation.
  • Experience with tool, fixture and manufacturing process development and the application of GD&T.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as cold forming, brazing, soldering and swaging.
  • Knowledge of machine design, machine controls, process control equipment and methods, automation.
  • Ability to develop and prepare process documentation, technical reports and presentations.
  • Effective team player and the ability to communicate effectively and work independently while taking direction from and maintaining a strong line of communication with other department Managers.
  • Knowledge of mechanical cables, cable winding, stranding, wire forming and associated machinery and processes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, ProEngineer and AutoCad.

Working Conditions

  • This position occupies a typical open, cubicle-type general office environment.
  • Incumbents spend approximately 35% sitting, 25% standing, and 40% walking in the course of performing their job responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds without mechanical assistance.
