Responsibilities

  • Make set-ups and operate related equipment, operate applicable test equipment and perform applicable inspections / tests as required including receiving inspection, in-process inspection, part layout, ATP and final inspection.
  • Cross train on all production / quality plant floor functions.
  • Work from assembly drawings, verbal instructions, job orders and blueprints. Trouble-shoot assembled units as required.
  • Assist all A & B production employees as required.
  • Operate all machines, equipment or hand tools relative to the operation and perform any fitting and adjusting as required.
  • Complete all related paperwork and documentation, including labor and production line performance reports.
  • Enter and retrieve as needed schedules, documents and updates from Shelbyville Production Files, Syteline, and Windchill system
  • Monitor production for defective work or incorrect parts, appropriate paperwork and report all unusual conditions to the supervisor.
  • Evaluate, disassemble, repair and reassemble returned or salvaged units.

Responsibilities Continued

  • Receive and inspect parts.
  • Prepare parts for shipment to sub-contractors for outside processing.
  • Pack and mark finished product for shipment to various customers in accordance with customer requirements
  • Keep Management apprised of all issues and report any unusual conditions to Supervision.
  • Train others as required.
  • Work safely.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and work instructions.

The incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, (GED) or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience preferred.
  • General mechanical knowledge/background. Tools, equipment, measuring equipment.
  • Ability to follow instruction. (oral and written).
  • Prefer ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • High level of judgement, analytic ability and creativity, such as investigating moderately complex problems or situations, analyzing information .
  • Use defined work procedures, processes such as manuals/guidelines and/or references..
