Description

Summary:

Focuses on supplier development in a manufacturing or service process. Works with suppliers to continuously improve performance, implement process controls and develop quality assurance plans. SQEs must be critical thinkers and active listeners with good time management skills to effectively work with Corporate Supply Chain, Suppliers, Procurement and Program Management teams to define deliverables, goods and services ready for customer delivery.

 

Essential Functions:

Develops, establishes, implements, maintains and assures the effectiveness of Quality Management Systems (AS9100) at the Supplier
Maintain and analyze Supplier Quality Metrics/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to include Quality Performance, Defect Parts per Million Opportunities (DPMO), and Supplier Concessions
Assist suppliers in the development and implementation of continuous improvement objectives and action plans
Ensure supply base is implementing effective root cause analysis and assist in their training, as applicable
Interface with customers and suppliers on new product launch and quality improvement activities.
Assist with maintenance and updates to the Triumph Supply Source Portal
Assists with flow down requirements and communications to suppliers of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Key player in Transfer of Work (ToW) projects
Generate technical reports that accurately communicate relevant quality information to the suppliers and Management
Evaluate supplier process changes
Perform Internal Audits/Assessments, as well as those of new and existing suppliers
Assist with the evaluation and analysis of quality to verify compliance, monitor performance, and mitigate risks
Interact and communicate with internal departments concerning measures for continual supplier quality improvement
Provide monthly reports of supplier interactions and status’, including future plans and goals
Apply statistical knowledge for quality improvement plans, both internally and externally
Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements
Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met


Education and Experience:


Associates degree in manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or technical field, or equivalent work-related experience required
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and office products
Abe to work within a fast paced, changing, high energy environment
Prior aerospace experience preferred
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of GD&T and its principles, proficient in blue-print reading
Ability to analyze data to use in sound decision making
Quality experience working directly with suppliers
Familiarization/experience in the following methodologies is preferred:
DMAIC and 8 Disciplines (8D) problem solving
Statistical Process Control
Strong problem-solving skills

Knowledge of First Article Requirements (AS9102)

Up to 10% travel may be required

Pay range: 78,000 – 117,000 annually.
