This role will require an individual that is comfortable in a high paced dynamic and challenging environment.  Reporting to the Quality Manager, we are looking for a Quality Engineer who will provide Quality interface with a specialized combination of skill, knowledge and ability between the organization and its customers to proactively assure that needs and expectations are understood and satisfied.  This includes customer contract review/flow downs and the associated compliance management process.

Responsibilities

•    Applies a strong knowledge of quality control and quality systems in developing and improving those aspects to ensure that the business attains its annual goals and meets internal, customer, regulatory, and AS9100 requirements.
•    Perform internal audits and prepare summary reports.
•    Solve problems and troubleshoots using good judgment, interfacing with other departments and suppliers to ensure robust root cause/corrective action nonconformances on assigned customer products.
•    Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers.
•    Processes and leads Customer Returns from receipt to return shipment
•    Daily collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, manufacturing, and inspection to ensure high quality product is delivered to our customers.
•    Understand and analyze complex problems and act as the facilitator for leading cross functional teams for customer required RCCAs and MRB submissions.
•    Effectively communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas and concepts to a diverse audience including Program Managers, Customers, and Senior Leadership.
•    Ensure proper escalation of customer issues as required.
•    Maintain & report Quality metrics
•    Participate in program and quality assurance reviews.
•    Performs direct correspondence with assigned Customers for Quality related requirements and issues
•    Leads and assists with internal, customer, or supplier audits and visits, including the completion of matrices and summary reports
•    Assists with gathering and writing (NOEs) Notification of Escapement
•    Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
•    Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook
•    Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met

Qualifications

•    Associates degree in manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or technical field, or equivalent work-related experience required
•    2-5 years in a Quality Engineer role in an aerospace company, complex manufacturing environment or other highly regulated industry preferred.
•    Knowledge of GD&T and its principles, proficient in blue-print reading.
•    Ability to analyze data to use in sound decision making.
•    Working knowledge using various tool for RCCA investigations, analysis, and implementation
•    Quality experience working directly with customers and suppliers
•    This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of AS9100 Rev D highly preferred
  • Internal auditing and statistical analysis experience highly preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred
  • Six Sigma and Lean experience preferred.

Compensation Data

Annual Pay Range: $83,900 - $114,300
