Engineer - Manufacturing Planner

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and develops manufacturing plans (jobs, work orders) by:
    • Examine drawings provided by Engineering to create comprehensive manufacturing plans designed to provide employees with all instructions and specifications necessary to effectively fabricate quality products using ERP system (Epicor 10)
    • Incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) at the appropriate time of change by capturing Work in Progress (WIP), updating ERP system and/or redlining jobs
    • Understands manufacturing process, principles, production planning, material requirements planning, and inventory control
    • Coordinates with stakeholders in creation of Bills of Material (BOM) and additional material information using ERP system
    • Initiates and completes changes to manufacturing plans using outlined rework/disposition instructions
    • Design and develop manufacturing tools to assist and improve production processes
    • Creating step by step Assembly Test Instructions with pictorial CAD (SolidWorks) images
  • Familiar with manufacturing of hydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems
  • Facilitates R&D planning in ERP between Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Responsible for assigned project production planning and layout, organizational set up, progress reporting and departmental coordination to ensure successful project completion
  • Work closely with production operators, supervisors, and other functional teams to continually improve product flow and quality
  • Understanding manufacturing capacity and capabilities planning
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Contributes to team by accomplishing objectives laid out through site-wide initiatives
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Other tasks/duties/responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience (Minimum requirements)

  • Associate degree from two-year college or technical school or 5+ years of ERP manufacturing planning on-the-job aerospace experience
  • Manufacturing background with knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups

Qualifications

  • Dealing with: Complexity, communication, leadership, supervision, hardware specifications, manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, product development, presenting technical information
  • Due to our company’s position as a key supplier to the US defense industry, all candidates must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States

Compensation Data

Pay Range: annually $83,300 - $113,700
