Responsibilities

 

  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, monitoring work, providing feedback, performance reviews, career development, discipline and resolving issues in accordance with company policies.
  • In conjunction with the ME’s and Planners, establishes workflow for manufacturing activities including coordinating with other departments, development of manufacturing plans, identifying material, facility, equipment, and tooling needs, as well as resolving manufacturing and maintenance problems.
  • Directs activities in accordance with production schedules, and established priorities, ensuring maximum utilization of assigned resources, machines, personnel, and materials.
  • Drives to 100% on time delivery, Reduction of past due backlog and reducing COPQ though robust RCCA
  • Evaluates existing manufacturing activities to ensure focus on core competencies and identify future growth opportunities to maximize use of in-house machining and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensure the manufacturing organization is fully compliant with all regulating authorities, customer, and applicable workplace safety programs and requirements.

  • Ensure all work is accomplished using appropriate data, tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Ensure machine and preventative maintenance is managed effectively to minimize schedule disruptions.
  • Coordinates with the Production Engineering Manager to ensure all manufacturing, machining, and assembly operations are fully supported. Helps creates long term plans to address future needs.
  • Assists in the development of budget plans/headcount/tooling and machine requirements. Creates and provides input on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Responsible for achieving department metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people at a minimum.
  • Supports the company’s Quality policies and implements guidelines to assure adherence to the standards.
  • Works with the Engineering group on new product development to ensure cost targets and milestones are met.
  • Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met. 

Qualifications

 

  • BS degree in business/management/manufacturing or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or machining experience with a strong technical background in shop floor operations and workflow with aerospace applications.
  • Leadership experience with evidence of progressive responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or machining experience with a strong technical background in shop floor operations and workflow with aerospace applications.
  • Lean Production background
