Scheduling Manager

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead a team of schedulers to success in meeting the part-by-part plan (PBP) through the machine shop, assembly, and R&O. This involves:
    • setting priorities for individual production orders
    • following up with bottleneck work centers
    • coordinating timing with outside processing
    • making sure that issues are get an appropriate level of attention by various functional groups
    • requesting overtime in operations/quality to support the PBP plan
  • Become a process expert in the scheduling function. This role will likely require some direct scheduling work.
  • Support daily activities of the team and coach the team to resolve challenges.
  • Create standard work for the scheduling team.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

  • 2+ years of leadership experience required
  • 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with mental aptitude and motivation to learn new functions and expand areas of expertise.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful candidate regularly interacts with teams on matters concerning several functional areas. Requires the ability to change the thinking of and/or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without negatively effecting day-to-day operations.
  • Proven ability to embrace and implement new and varied material management approaches.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • APICS, CPM and/or similar certification.
  • Experience with interpreting MRP preferred.
  • Experience within machining or complicated operations environments preferred.
