Overview

 

We are currently seeking an Analysis Design Engineer to support our Park City, UT Location. This role will report through our Engineering department in Park City, UT with options to work from offices in Park City, UT, Las Colinas, TX and Macomb, MI. 25% Travel is required.

Responsibilities

 

  • Analysis of precision Gear Systems including Aerospace Actuators, Accessory Gearboxes and Propeller Drives, and Power Generation Gearboxes.
  • Analysis of gear systems, housings, and covers with integrated lubrication and cooling systems.
  • Maintain the technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to aircraft drive systems through documentation of lessons learned, process and procedure development, and staying abreast of current technology breakthroughs.
  • Work with Project Engineering and Systems Engineering to manage master schedules, requirements documents, and compliance matrices
  • Timely preparation of associated engineering documentation including but not limited to Analysis Reports, Qualification Reports, Failure Investigations Reports, Project Plans, Test Plans, Project deliverable documents and Engineering Changes.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with eight or more years of relevant design experience on aerospace gear systems, transmissions, actuation, or similar related industry preferred.
  • Expertise and Experience in the analysis of high-speed rotating equipment including a good understanding of bearing analysis and spur, helical and bevel gear analysis (AGMA)(CAGE)(ISO) and complex housings.
  • Proficiency in design and analytical software tools required such as Ansys, Nastran, Abaqus FEA.
  • Experience in Advanced Gear System Design Software such as A B Jones software for bearings, Gleason software for bevel gears, and PowerGear, MASTA or ROMAX is a plus.
  • Understanding of properties for through hardened, carburized, and nitrided steels. Understanding of properties for heat treatment of metals.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communication with the ability to compose test procedures and engineering reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Project Engineering and Project Schedules.
  • Advanced Excel skills is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical interface and application knowledge with demonstrated experience in meeting customer specification requirements, schedules, and cost goal expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Proficiency with 3D Modeling software is required.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and tolerance stack-up impacts to analysis
  • Analytical knowledge of Reliability, FMECA, RCCA and Six Sigma are desirable.
  • Familiarity with formal Qualification Standards such as DO160, MIL-STD-810 and/or EUROCAE ED-14 is desirable.
