Senior Analyst, Procurement

Responsibilities

-The Buyer is responsible for performing all procurement activities for their assigned Suppliers to support customer order requirements and the replenishment of inventory via purchase orders. The Buyer serves as the primary point of contact between Triumph and the Supplier. They monitor supplier performance based on the requirements from customer orders and MRP demand, with consideration for Cost, Quality & Delivery. 

  • Reviews requisitions, verifies their accuracy and consults with requisitioning department to assure proper specifications; recommends substitutes where cost or delivery would be improved; negotiates lead times, prices and delivery needs with requisitioners and suppliers.
  • Solicits and analyzes quotations for new or non-standard items; approves the awarding of purchase orders within established authority; ensures that all purchase orders comply with government regulations and accepted trade practices; processes and resolves open or problem orders.
  • Locates, identifies, evaluates and contacts suppliers for best cost, service, quality and delivery.
  • Places purchase orders for needed materials and supplies, negotiating price and delivery means and schedules; determines and locates substitutes as necessary.
  • Report cost savings and cost containment results.
  • Performs proactive follow-up with suppliers to assure delivery at agreed time in order to meet production needs; may prepare periodic reports.  Processes adjustments with suppliers where terms of the purchase order have not been met such as replacements, cancellations, credits and returns; insures appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • All other duties as specified.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in Supply Chain or Business preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 4+ years Supply Chain / Purchasing experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong MRP skills and experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Bills of Materials.
  • Proficient use of Internet, Microsoft office, spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Ability to read blueprints, including tolerances, Rev Levels & detail notes.
  • Extensive experience in supporting fast paced Aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to source new items, applies basic qualification standards, and review supplier capabilities.
  • High level of judgment, exceptional analytic ability and creativity in investigating major problems that required original and highly innovative solutions, performance of well-defined tasks
Working Environment

This position occupies a typical office environment.   Exposure to weather elements is unlikely.   Incumbents will drive a vehicle in the course of performing their job responsibilities.   Incumbents spend approximately 60% sitting, 10% standing, and 30% walking in the course of performing their job responsibilities and are unlikely to handle materials weighing more than 30 pounds without mechanical assistance.   Incumbents will use the following office machines / equipment / tools in the course of performing their duties: Computers, Printer\Copiers, Phone System.

Some Business Travel may be required < 10% of the time.
