Project Engineer Level 3 Position in North Wales, PA.

 

The Project Engineer will lead design and integration of Detector Drive Systems (DDS) and Flux Mapping Systems (FMS) used in nuclear reactors. They will also execute projects in compliance with AS9100 requirements for aerospace product lines.

The candidate must possess an ability to lead Stage-Gate process from conceptual design to manufacturing production and be familiar with Aerospace or Nuclear industries, mechanical systems, and military standards and practices. The ideal candidate has experience servicing industrial, utility, electronics, and mechanical systems.

A BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of ten years of professional engineering experience is required. A Master of Science in Engineering is a plus.

 

The engineer must demonstrate fundamental project management skills and technical competency with:

 

ASME Y14.5 drawing practices

AS9100 quality management system

Statements of work

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

Materials processing and finish selection

Manufacturing and supplier support

PLM and configuration control

Technical writing and test reporting

ITAR and EAR compliance

Responsibilities

 

Support Program Managers in defining and managing resource requirements (staffing, tools, budget) for all engineering activities on assigned programs.

 

Develop technical tasks to meet project requirements with an emphasis on technical integrity and product quality.

 

Manage program schedule and cost performance.

 

Lead customer interface efforts, specifically weekly update meetings, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews.

 

Coordinate with Engineering Test Laboratory when preparing for and executing product maturity, safety of flight and full qualification testing.

 

Serve as technical interface with suppliers and outside test labs; document meetings, discussions, decisions; concurrent development of data to support needs of customers.

 

Track, document, manage engineering change requests to ensure data releases are complete, accurate, on time. 

 

Create 3D CAD assets and part/assembly technical drawings.

 

Reports to VP of Engineering. Occasional travel (three or four times per year, a few days per trip) to customer locations in the US and international.
