General Duties

The Production Planner will work under the general direction of the Director of Planning and Control performing technical and administrative duties required to meet production schedules and inventory management goals.  

 

  • Analytical duties in the determination of material requirements for assigned programs and or projects related to material management functions
  • Assist in the creation, monitoring and execution of a monthly production plan for the site’s manufacturing areas
  • Review the gross requirements through MRP and or a LOB to create a material plan that complies with required service levels
  • Possess an understanding of all the materials and processes that contribute to the sales, manufacturing and distribution of the products they are scheduling and planning
  • Capable of developing a working line of communication with people from all levels of the organization
  • Assist as needed in support of stockroom, shipping and receiving to insure material transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various groups and work from established program plans and/or Customer orders to develop, maintain and monitor schedules.
  • Perform diversified analytical duties related to the identification and resolution of material management problems associated with assigned programs to meet schedule. Recommend MRP settings in support of these goals.
  • Participate in program status reviews and new program schedule review meetings
  • Will be encouraged to further education in Material and Inventory Management (APICS)
  • Analyze demand and supply balance and determine out of balance conditions: then identify alternatives and recommend actions for approval.
  • Monitor and assist in insuring transaction accuracy..

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

 1 year or more of shop floor experience a must

  • Some production experience preferred  
  • Have some working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
    • Experience working with Syteline is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills in MS office to include advanced Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint is also preferred but not required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detailed oriented with exceptional time management and multi-tasking ability. 
  • Must be analytical and data driven in their decision-making process.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, coordinating and organizational skills a must.
