Responsibilities

 (2nd Shift role 5pm - 4:30am) Manages hourly production associates leading by example in a manner that is proactive for the company • Directs, develops, mentors and coach’s production team and communicates effectively and transparently with all departments • Updates production boards, systems and reports as required • Takes all appropriate actions to ensure the next shift will be able to start and operate as smoothly as possible • Works closely with maintenance to ensure that production equipment runs safely and efficiently at all times • Responsible to ensure production team works efficiently with a continuous improvement mindset for cost, quality, and production. • Communicate open Quality Alerts and administer training to the team as needed. • Maintain and improve 5S throughout the facility and ensure all personnel are trained in 5S • Continuously monitors and tracks output, manufacturing processes, labor efficiencies, direct operating expenses and quality indicators for assigned cost centers. • Establishes and builds working relationships with other departmental personnel, such as Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Planning and Quality to meet production schedules • Meets regularly on a formal basis with Management Team to review production results and improvement priorities. • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) • Resolves issues by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. • Determines appropriate staffing levels to assure productivity and cost goals are met. • Identifies, directs, and manages continuous cost improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of machine process operation preferred. • 3-5 years of leadership/management experience desired. • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred • RCCA, 5 Why, 8D, VSM expericence • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization. • Ability to work with employees at all levels and to motivate direct reports; specifically, mentoring and coaching individuals and identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support. • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances. Education Requirement: • Associates degree in Manufacturing Operations, and /or equivalent experience required.
