Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager of the business, the Sr. Operations Manager has leadership responsibility for production, maintenance and EHS functions. The incumbent is to plan and execute daily production needs with high-performing teams, develop strategy and tactics to efficiently achieve aggressive customer schedules ahead.
Responsibilities
- Direct all Operations functions in 24x7 manufacturing environment including cross functional high-performance teams, maintenance and assembly
- Drive safety, quality and on time delivery of products and services
- Ensures that the department(s) has adequate resources to perform assigned tasks. Implements company policies and procedures
- Establish performance goals and metrics for continuous improvement and performance measurement in support of Triumph Operating System initiatives
- Create and distribute weekly performance reports on all aspects of plant operations including inventory, labor, and production to monitor performance against plant objectives.
- Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
- Provides strong leadership and timely, effective interface with in-house staff support teams (Facilities, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.) to achieve production goals
- Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
- Participate in planning and/or decision making in matters concerning financial and operational problems, inventory control, plant policy and facility/maintenance issues and staffing
- Hire, develop and evaluates staff through training, engagement and accountability initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Aerospace industry experience and MBA preferred
- Ten years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship
- Thorough knowledge of:
- Applying Lean Manufacturing techniques and AS9100 principles
- ERP use and working knowledge of Visual systems
- P&L statements, cost analysis reports and labor utilization reports
- Skill to:
- Promote the company vision; communicating effectively to all levels of the organization and customers, both verbally and presentations
- Plan strategically; to scope tasks and set goals and tactically execute the plan
- Effective listen, coach/mentor, delegate & follow-through
- Six sigma or lean transformation experience is a plus
