Job Summary

The Program Manager acts as a business liaison to ensure that the program activities are managed in accordance with the contract requirements and is the company’s primary representative for customer communication. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring customer specifications are maintained throughout the manufacturing process and coordinates all changes regarding schedule, engineering, planning and cost in reference to the original contact. The Program Manager must be able to work at an optional level in a fast pace, high stress environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Integrate program schedules, quality performance, tracking financial and implementing corrective actions
  • Serves as the customer advocate, ensuring effective program management processes, including schedule, cost, risk management, project change management, and commitments to customers are met
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned program activities, ensuring successful customer relationships
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives, focusing on performance, cost, and schedule management.
  • Effective program/project management skills, with strong customer service skills
  • Conduct variance analysis with the finance team to optimize program profitability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with military and defense stakeholders
  • Establish and communicate overall priorities and change program requirements to functional areas
  • Negotiate contract changes related to scope management and act as a key presenter at major program reviews
  • The role also involves mentoring within program management and leadership to various project teams, maintaining professional knowledge through workshops and publications, and sharing specialized knowledge with others
  • Lead cross-functional integrated program team (IPT) to ensures proactive focus on program requirements
  • Provide regular program status reports to management
  • Actively participate in Contract and Sales IPT
  • Manage day-to-day action items and priorities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years’ progressive experience in Program Management
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment a plus
  • Remain flexible to changing requirements and workload
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Attention to details and accuracy
  • Organizational skills & Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work in fast pace and high stress environment
  • Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for a period of time.
  • Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Must be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or in paper format.
