Job Summary

The Materials Value Stream Manager at Triumph Gear Systems will primarily be responsible for leading a small, dedicated team that maps out the current state of overall material low, develops the business case and leads the future state actions cross functionally with the Production, PM, and Purchasing teams.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of inventory and purchasing departments to ensure alignment with customer demand and prevailing lead times.
  • Increase the flow of business value from customer request to customer delivery.
  • Complete C2C management of material flow.
  • Create current state map, identify gaps/delays, inefficient ices.
  • Use TOS/Lean methodologies to eliminate gaps in the ideal state map to achieve lean efficiency using:
    • SIOP
    • Inventory Management
    • Material flow – WIP, aging out of flow material
    • On time releases
    • Health min/max management in stores
    • Systems upgraded as needed
  • Drive inventory optimization by implementing best practices while satisfying customer demands and business targets.
  • Identifies and leads Continuous Improvement events.
  • Develops Kanban pull systems and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Establishing and maintaining MPS and finished goods inventory policies.
  • Create standard work/detailed work instructions for planning functions by product line.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) preferably in  Supply Chain, Engineering, or management / technical related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a complex, highly engineered, manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Fluent with MRP systems, specifically materials management functionality.
  • A basic knowledge of military and commercial aerospace specifications and standards preferred.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with mental aptitude and motivation to learn new functions and expand areas of expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean practices including VMI and Kanban inventory programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to embrace and implement new and varied material management approaches.

Desired Qualifications

  • APICS, CPM and/or similar certification.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Lean / Continuous improvement experience.
  • Technical: MS Office, Project Mgt tools experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand and sit for a period of time.
  • Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Must be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or in paper format.
