Overview

Triumph Gear Systems – Macomb is a world class manufacturer and supplier of complex gear assemblies, detail gears, and an array of components servicing the aerospace industry. We are deeply passionate about providing quality parts that exceed our customer expectations.

Job Summary

The Planning Manager at Triumph Gear Systems will primarily be responsible for the management of planning function establishing planning and stocking strategies to meet the needs of the business. In addition, they will lead and manage the demand process including MRP utilization, forecasting policies and planning techniques.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Driving inventory optimization by implementing best practices while satisfying customer demands and business targets – includes WIP / E&O reduction and FG strategies.
  • Creates and facilitates production plans and priorities across both shifts to support the customer demands
  • Full scale management of SIOP ( Sales , Inventory and Operational Planning) to support near term and long term supply chain , operations and financial forecasts
  • Regularly perform and update capacity and demand variation analysis using simulation models for  Labor , machine, and supplier to drive assure it aligns with the demand and buffers for any anticipated demand spikes
  • Adept at performing weekly revenue forecast, report any potential risks and mitigation plans to maintain the financial forecast on quarterly and monthly basis
  • Providing appropriate material availability to meet customer demands and revenue targets.
  • Establishing and maintaining MPS and finished goods inventory policies.
  • Creating standard work/detailed work instructions for planning functions by product line.
  • Analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis.
  • Establishing Skills Matrix & Performance Metrics.
  • Maintaining inventory integrity and cycle count process.
  • Lead and coordinate the site wide Annual Physical Inventory.
  • Identifies and leads Continuous Improvement events.
  • Develops Kanban pull systems and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Arranges for the disposal of surplus and obsolete materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Management, related field or equivalent work experience in related function
  • 8+ years of experience in a complex, highly engineered, manufacturing environment.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
  • Fluent with MRP systems, specifically materials management functionality.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with mental aptitude and motivation to learn new functions and expand areas of expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean practices including VMI and Kanban inventory programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to embrace and implement new and varied material management approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS, CPM and/or similar certification.
  • Prior related experience is within the aerospace industry.
  • Advanced degree.
  • JD Edwards experience desirable
  • A basic knowledge of military and commercial aerospace specifications and standards
  • Technical: MS Office, Project Mgt tools experience is a plus
