Triumph Gear Systems – Macomb is a world class manufacturer and supplier of complex gear assemblies, detail gears, and an array of components servicing the aerospace industry. We are deeply passionate about providing quality parts that exceed our customer expectations. We manufacture gearbox assemblies, complete transmissions, detail gears and housings utilizing the latest manufacturing technologies and have fully integrated product testing and assembly capabilities. Triumph Group is growing and transforming in order to succeed in today’s increasingly competitive and global marketplace and is seeking talented Machinists for Grind to fill roles on our growing 2nd shift (15% shift premium) and weekend shift.  

 

2nd shift (5 pm to 5 am)

Weekend shift (5 to 5- 1st or 2nd) Friday,Saturday,Sunday- work 36 get paid for 40 with OT optional during the week. (Only 2nd receives a15% shift premium)

Responsibilities

The preferred candidate shall be required to:

  • Set up and operate CNC Gear Grind equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Grinding of splined shafts and aircraft gears holding tolerances of .0001” - .0005” of lead and involute.
  • Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and participate in Triumph Geared Solutions certified operator program.
  • Perform critical measurements using supplied gauging
  • Maintain proper paperwork associated with planned job
  • Load / unload parts from precision grind machine

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude a plus
  • KAPP / Generative gear grinding a plus
  • Working knowledge of Inspection Devices and Instruments
  • Ability to translate prints along with understanding of GD&T
  • High School Diploma or equivilent
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Shop math skills
  • Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools are required.
  • Ability to utilize visual comparator and Precision Gear Check Equipment
  • Exposure to the following equipment a plus
    • KAPP 500 Generation Gear Grinder
    • KAPP VX-59 ID/OD Gear Grinder
    • Thread Roll Grinding
    • Hofler Profile Grinder
    • Precision Gear Hone
    • Manual Spline Grind
    • Gleason / Barber Coleman / Mitsubishi Gear Shaper
