Job Summary

The ID/OD CNC Machinist at Triumph Gear Systems is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of CNC ID/OD grinders in the ID/OD Grind Department. The ID/OD CNC Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems ID/OD Grind department work instruction.

Duties/Responsibilities

•   Set up and operate CNC and Manual OD and ID grind equipment with minimal supervision
•   Grinding of splined shafts and aircraft gears holding tolerances of .0001"-.0005."
•   Basic Maintenance of CNC Grinders
•   Use precision measurement equipment
•   Maintain proper documentation of SPC data
•   Consistently produce quality parts
•   Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
•   Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•   High school diploma or equivalent required
•   3-5 years’ experience
•   Blueprint reading skills
•   Shop math skills
•   Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools

Physical Requirements

•   Good hand-eye coordination
•   Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
•   Able to stand for long periods of time
•   Ability to use hand tools
