Triumph Geared Solutions – Macomb is a world class manufacturer and supplier of complex gear assemblies, detail gears, and an array of components servicing the aerospace industry. We are deeply passionate about providing quality parts that exceed our customer expectations.

 

We manufacture gearbox assemblies, complete transmissions, detail gears and housings utilizing the latest manufacturing technologies and have fully integrated product testing and assembly capabilities.  In the military and commercial marketplace for both fixed wing and rotary aircraft, we ensure a broad range of products and product support with a single point of contact on some of the world’s best-known civilian and military aircraft platforms.

 

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Program Quality Engineer for our facility in Macomb, MI.

Responsibilities

 

  • Interacting with Customer to process nonconforming parts (MRB), resolve engineering and process constraints/ limitations, provide robust corrective actions (RCCA) and support audits.
  • Collaborate with customer / TGS team to execute NPI requirements and cost savings initiatives
  • Owning key elements for the development, review, monitor, and improvement activities directly related to end-customer requirements.
  • Ensuring that all Customer requirements are established, documented, communicated, and maintained in compliance.
  • Providing Quality interface and expertise between the organization and its customers and suppliers to proactively assure that the customer needs and expectations are understood and satisfied.
  • Interpreting and evaluating test results against required engineering requirements, specifications, and standards to ensure full compliance.
  • Reviewing and providing disposition on Customer returns. Submit and close out Notice of Escapes (NOE) in coordination with Customer.
  • Managing and submitting First Article Inspection to Customer.
  • Guiding engineers and inspectors on engineering and inspection requirements.
  • Participating in APQP/ PPAP and providing documentation to Customers.
  • Daily collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, manufacturing, and inspection to ensure high quality product is delivered to our customers
  • Understand and analyze complex problems and derive solutions
  • Effectively communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas, and concepts to a diverse audience including Program Managers, Customers, and Executive Management
  • Track and report monthly quality performance metrics
  • Review customer drawings and specifications and to fully understand requirement flow downs
  • Understand the design intent, requirements, and specifications of our products as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls and failure modes
  • Provide support in development and evaluation of product and process capability, process control plans, analysis of conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving process performance and capability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - CQE, CQA, CQM, Green/Black-Belt, or other similar professional certification highly desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Role in an Aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in metrological and metallurgical inspection.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Trained
  • Knowledge on AS9100D and AS13100 requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge on reading blueprints, and interpretation of customer specification and international specifications.
  • Experience with Advanced Quality Processes (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3 Problem Solving)
  • Working knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) standards, practices and Customer engagement.
  • Experience facilitating effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Compliance and Regulatory experience.
  • Strong technical, quantitative, analytical and data management skills.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft and ERP applications

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment
  • Must be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or paper format
